Ayodhya : The Sacred Birthplace of Lord Rama

Ayodhya is the birthplace of Lord Ram. Ayodhya is just not the birth place ( Janambhoomi ) of Lord Ram, but it also holds lot of mythological and historical importance. The city of Ayodhya is situated near the river Sarayu.

Over the time, Ayodhya has become a place of spiritual importance because of the grand inaugration of Ram Mandir by Prime Minister Narendar Modi of India in January, 2024.

If you plan to visit Ayodhya, you can consider the following places to visit.

Shri Ram Ayodhya Temple

Ram Mandir – Shri Ram Janambhoomi Temple :

This temple is an adobe to Lord Ram. It is this place where Lord Ram was born. The temple is open from 6 am in the morning, till 10 pm in the evening.

HANUMAN GARHI

Hanuman Garhi :

Wherever there is Shri Ram Ji, Hanuman Ji ( Lord Ram’s biggest devotee ) has to be present. So, Hanuman Garhi temple is dedicated to Lord Hanuman. The temple offers panoramic view of Ayodhya as devotees have to climb about 76 steps for seeking the blessings of Lord Hanuman. It is beleived that before visiting the Ram Mandir, one should first visit the Hanuman Garhi Temple.

This temple is open for devotees from 5 am in the morning to 9 pm in the evening.

Shri Ram Janam Bhoomi Temple

Sita Ki Rasoi :

Sita ki rasoi or Sita’s Kitchen is a mythological site where it is believed that Sita cooked for Lord Rama. The place is famous for the facts related to ancient kitchen and its architecture.

This place is open for visitors from 8 am in the morning upto 6 pm in the evening.

Kanak Bhawan :

Kanak Bhawan is a beautiful palace which is belived to have been gifted to Lord Ram and Sita as a wedding gift by Kakaie. The temple is a pilgrimage place as idols of both Lord and Sita are worshipped here together.

This place is open in the morning from 7 am to 11 am & from 5 pm to 9 pm in the evening.

chardham Yatra

Guptar Ghat :

A serene ghat on the banks of the Sarayu River. You can attend the peaceful aarti in the evening at the river. It is believed that the pilgrim should first take a dip in the river before visiting the temple.
